USAID’s Women’s Peace Banks are empowering women in the southern Kyrgyz Republic to lead community-based interethnic reconciliation initiatives and promote women’s role in local peace building. The project has two main objectives: (1) to strengthen cooperation and trust between women in communities, recovering from conflict, and (2) to increase role of women in promoting reconciliation initiatives and mitigating conflicts.
The Local Transparency and Cooperation Initiative (LTCI) is a community-based conflict mitigation program improving cooperation and accountability between citizens and local government in the provision of quality public services; and increasing the transparency of and public confidence in the extractive industry.
The program is designed to enhance the capacity, skills, and knowledge of practicing attorneys and the next generation of lawyers in order to improve access to an impartial justice system, build public confidence in the legal system, and promote stability in the Kyrgyz Republic.
USAID’s Kyrgyz Agro-Input Enterprise Development Project (KAED), jointly with the Tim Agro agricultural cooperative will host a field day for local farmers and other agricultural specialists August 20, 2014. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. on the fields of Tim Agro agricultural cooperative in Luxembourg village, Issyk-Ata rayon, Chui oblast.
The Good Governance and Public Administration Strengthening (GGPAS) program is a flexible, three-year initiative to help strengthen key public and private institutions critical to long-term stability and democratic growth.
