Overview of the USAID projects in the Kyrgyz Republic as of March, 2014
Residents of Taygariyev community in Jalal-Abad city celebrated the beginning of spring with a colorful festival Women Bring Music. The celebration, which took place in the secondary school named after Koshmatov, was conducted within the framework of the project Women’s Peace Banks. The project is being implemented by the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Top managers of more than sixty Kyrgyz companies producing textile and food products and chief executives of more than twenty Kazakh trading companies (importers) will take part in a business matchmaking conference to be held in Bishkek on March 12-13, 2014.
On 5-10 March 2014, USAID’s Women’s Leadership in Small and Medium Enterprises (WLSME) program is sponsoring the 8th National Garment Trade Fair “Fashion Industry 2014: Manufactures and Equipment” hosted by the Association of Light Industry Enterprises “LEGRPOM”.
USAID/Kyrgyz Republic produced a 2014 wall calendar that includes images of beneficiaries and brief captions telling about USAID assistance in the country. The calendar includes images of projects working to improve the quality of education, health care services, youth support, local economic development, agricultural productivity, food security and independent media in the Kyrgyz Republic. USAID's successes in cooperation are highlighted throughout the calendar.
