The auditorium of Pristina’s largest hotel was packed on September 6 with children visiting the Annual Book Fair, organized to promote International Literacy Day. The Annual Book Fair this year highlighted Martin Luther King’s “I have a Dream” speech in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Kings’ famous speech.
As part of second annual Berry Festival, fresh berries were displayed and sold in downtown Pristina August 12 through August 23, 2013. The event invited raspberry and blackberry producers to display and sell their bountiful harvest of freshly picked berries to the general public. Kosovar farmers sold more than 6 tons of berries during the 10-day event.
Robokids camp organized on July 7 - 11 brought together 36 students from 16 Kosovo schools that have introduced robotics activities into their curriculum. The camp was tailored specifically to strengthen robotics and computer control skills for students of grades seven to grade nine.
USAID’s FY 2014 – FY 2018 Strategy is designed to support the achievement of the USG’s central foreign policy objective of peace and stability in the Balkans. In order for Kosovo to become a successful nation, it will have to build the capacity of its governing institutions, strengthen its economy, and improve the education and skills of its citizens. Only by achieving these interconnected objectives will Kosovo be able to integrate into Western European and Trans-Atlantic structures, while ensuring prosperity and stability at home for all of its people.
