The protection of human rights and respect for rule of law requires a strong legal framework and highly functioning institutions that hold individuals and the government accountable for their actions. In Georgia some progress has been made to advance a capable justice system and efforts continue in this direction. Building on the momentum of recent and upcoming legislative changes, USAID will continue to support the development of a justice system in Georgia that ensures due process, judicial independence, and the protection of human rights.
