Kutaisi, March 30, 2017, - USAID Mission Director Douglas Ball visited Kutaisi Public School # 32 to see an innovative class in reading.  The class use new teaching methods introduced by USAID’s Georgia Primary Education (G-PriEd) project, implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science (MES).

The U.S. Government is committed to assisting Georgia in developing teaching methods and approaches that advance critical thinking and problem solving skills.  These are the skills required for a 21^st century workforce that will help Georgia compete in the global economy. 

G-PriEd supports over 480 schools and engages approximately 5,000 teachers and 100,000 students in grades 1-6.  With its innovative teaching model, G-PriEd develops the basics of literacy, numeracy, and entrepreneurial skills; while building critical thinking, problem solving, and team-work abilities of students.  The project is very popular among students, parents and teachers.
