About Philippines
The Philippines, Southeast Asia's oldest democracy, is a key development, trade and security partner to the United States. Its economy has grown substantially in recent years, but the gains have not yet generated sufficient improvements in the lives of many Filipinos.
Since 2012, the U.S.-Philippines Partnership for Growth has addressed the Philippines’ most binding constraints to lasting, shared growth: ineffective governance, insufficient public financing, inadequate infrastructure and weak human capacity. USAID's work is critical to sustain recent gains and foster more inclusive economic growth that is enjoyed by all Filipinos.
