As per the Foreign Assistance Act (FAA) of 1961, as amended, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Nepal invites submission of concept papers and, if later requested, oral presentations in response to this NOFO. USAID issues this NOFO per the Automated Directive System (ADS) 303.3.5.2.a for a cooperative agreement to support the “Reading for All: Disability Inclusive Education for Nepali Children” project.
USAID/Nepal requests the services of a USPSC to support the unique and complex work of the Disaster Risk Reduction, Reconstruction, and Resilience (DR4) Office for two years with the possibility of three one-year extensions. The U.S. Mission in Nepal holds disaster risk reduction (DRR), earthquake reconstruction, and resilience as top priorities. USAID is supporting critical activities to 1) assist Nepal in managing risks before, during, and after natural disasters, and 2) rebuild and rehabilitate critical earthquake-damaged infrastructure.

Since January 2016, a team of medical doctors known as WEDS Officers have provided technical assistance to District Health Authorities of the 14 districts most affected by the 2015 Nepal earthquake. USAID’s Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (USAID/OFDA) has supported this intervention since February 2016. Project objectives include strengthening disease surveillance and response, and supporting re-strengthening of health services in affected health facilities
The project “Identification and Management of Open Spaces for Disaster Preparedness (IMOS)” supported by USAID/OFDA aims to assist the GoN to continue enhancing their preparedness efforts and establish coherent approaches in responding and managing the needs of the displaced populations after a large-scale earthquake in the remote areas and cities in the hilly districts west of Kathmandu.
