The U.S. Chargé d'Affaires hosted a reception to send off 22 scholarship recipients departing to pursue postgraduate studies in the United States and Indonesia underthe U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) PRESTASI program. The goal of the program is to improve the performance and leadership skills of Indonesian professionals in support of the country’s development. The scholars were selected from among more than 689 applicants; 13 will study in the U.S., the other nine in Indonesia. All will begin their studies in the 2015 academic year.

On June 19, the U.S. Agency for International Development Mission Director Andrew Sisson signed an agreement awarding $5 million USD to the Indonesia Climate Change Trust Fund (ICCTF) alongside the Ministry of National Development Planning Deputy Minister and ICCTF Board of Trustees Chairwoman Endah Murniningtyas. This contribution will fund Indonesian non-governmental organizations' (NGOs) climate change programs.

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced a $26 million expansion to its Program to Extend Scholarship and Training to Achieve Sustainable Impact (PRESTASI). Under the expanded scholarship program, Indonesian public servants can earn postgraduate degrees in the United States or Indonesia in the fields of public policy, economic growth, political science, public administration, environment, health, and education.

We need more partnerships between the public and private sector​ in order to develop innovative solutions that save lives and address global problems that affect us all.

The Indonesian Network for Clinical Legal Education (INCLE) is officially launched on March12, 2015. INCLE Secretary General, Lidwina Inge Nurtjahyo, USAID Indonesia Director of Democracy, Rights and Governance Office, Zeric Smith, and Country Representative of the Asia Foundation Sandra Hamid attended the launching.
