IOM X in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) today premiered Open Doors: An IOM X Production, aimed at preventing the exploitation of domestic workers in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region.
The U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Brian McFeeters together with the Minister of Education and Culture Anies Baswedan visited SDN Jelupang 2, a public elementary school in Tangerang Selatan, Banten, to symbolically handover 8 million leveled reading books developed through a U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) education program. More than 600,000 of the books will be distributed to 986 primary schools in 7 districts in Banten.
The U.S. Agency for International Development hosted an event to mark the closing of the USAID Indonesia Urban Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (IUWASH). The event was attended by the media and national agencies involved in water supply and sanitation sector development. In 5 years, working in close partnership with the Indonesian government, IUWASH has successfully increased access to safe water and improved sanitation in urban areas and especially for low income communities.
On World Tuberculosis Day (March 24, 2016), U.S. Ambassador Robert Blake launched a new Public Service Announcement (PSA) video at @america, encouraging Indonesians to get tested and treated for tuberculosis (TB) if they have a persistent cough. The video prominently features Indonesian rock band Slank who gave a surprise performance at the @america event. The PSA is part of the Ministry of Health’s public awareness campaign on TB: “TOSS TB” (Find TB, Treat Until Cured).
The United States announced today the second annual ASEAN-U.S. Science Prize for Women supported by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the U.S. Mission to ASEAN and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with UL.
