Members of Parliament on the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) and the Committee on Public Enterprise (COPE) joined officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Auditor General’s Department for a March 5 conference sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to help the Government of Sri Lanka strengthen overall transparency, accountability and effectiveness of governance. The conference was launched by Hon. Speaker of the Parliament Karu Jayasuriya; Dhammika Dassanayake, Secretary General, Parliament of Sri Lanka; Hon. Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Chairman of COPA; Hon. Sunil Handunnetti, Chairman of COPE; and Reed Aeshliman, Acting USAID Mission Director.
