USAID Peru Mission Director Lawrence Rubey attended the celebratory event of the USAID program Consortium Loreto Manu Tambopata in the conservation of the Amazonia. This project worked to conserve biodiversity, secure rural livelihoods and promote the sustainable use of natural resources in two of the most ecologically important landscapes of the Peruvian Andean Amazon.
The celebratory event showcased the most important achievements of the past five years among key Peruvian and U.S. representatives in Peru, civil society organizations and international cooperation agencies; and brought success stories from the Amazonian people closer to urban citizens in Lima, contributing to widen the constituencies towards Amazon conservation in the capital city.
