Today, Carolyn “Teddy” Bryan was sworn in as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Mission Director for Lebanon. In this capacity she will oversee USAID development assistance to the Lebanese people.
Dr. Raj Shah, Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will travel to Israel, the West Bank, Jordan and Lebanon from November 5-8 for meetings and site visits. His trip will focus on USAID’s development assistance to the region, including USAID programs supporting Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts, as well as U.S. assistance to Lebanon and Jordan.
Today, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator for the Middle East, Mara Rudman, swore in Azza El-Abd as the new Mission Director for Lebanon. As Mission Director for Lebanon, Ms. El-Abd will lead development assistance efforts to: improve quality education, water and other public services in Lebanon; strengthen civil society’s ability to promote good governance; and enhance economic opportunity for the poorest segments of Lebanese society.
U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator for the Middle East Mara Rudman completed her visit to Lebanon today by participating in Rural Tourism Day in Baskinta.
