Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. Kyrgyz Association of Tour Operators (KATO) presented a comprehensive electronic catalog of places to stay for tourists in Kyrgyzstan and results of the project.

The catalogue is the first nation-wide accessible electronic database of hotel services (tourist accommodation) in Kyrgyzstan. It contains contact information, prices and pictures of 290 different hotels, guest houses, yurt camps, mountain lodges, etc. throughout the country.

KATO together with PAIDA SOFT launched a special website – www.myroom.kg – for the database. In addition, KATO will provide its members with the directory on CDs for distribution during exhibitions and meetings.

The catalogue is useful for both local and foreign tourists. Moreover, it will support small and medium accommodation businesses by directly connecting the tourists and tour agencies. Each member of KATO can conclude an agreement with the website for online booking services.

This project was supported by the USAID “Women’s leadership in small and medium enterprises” project implemented by ACDI/VOCA in partnership with Bai Tushum Banking Group. The program aims to increase the number and the size of women-owned small and medium businesses by providing training for 960 women entrepreneurs across the country. The program also helps the entrepreneurs establish better connections with suppliers and customers, key industry associations and service providers.
