The U.S. Government, the United Nations (UN), and the Ministry of Health commemorated World AIDS Day through a joint event that reaffirmed their shared commitment to partner in the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS.
On November 22, the USAID Agro Horizon project and Oasis Agro, LLC, signed a memorandum of understanding to boost diary production in Osh and Jalal-Abad. This partnership will leverage private sector investment and expertise to increase the efficiency and quality of milk production, which will improve competitiveness of Kyrgyz farmers.
On November 18-19, Jyrgalan Valley is hosting a festival to kick off the 2016-2017 ski season, featuring concerts, games and other activities showcasing winter sports, local handicrafts, and guest houses in the burgeoning Tian Shan backcountry ski destination located 60 kilometers east of Karakol. The festival is being organized with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The project is designed to reduce new HIV infections and HIV-related deaths in Central Asian countries. It will increase the use of high-quality HIV prevention, testing, treatment, adherence and care services by key populations including People Who Inject Drugs (PWID) and People Living with HIV (PLHIV).
From July through September, 2016 , the United States, through the USAID Agro Horizon project, sponsored a series of business growth events to connect Kyrgyzstani agricultural producers with local and international buyers.
