The International Food Relief Partnership (IFRP) program in the Kyrgyz Republic is funded by the USAID Office of Food for Peace. The IFRP strives to reduce food insecurity among the most vulnerable groups, including children, women, patients with TB and mental diseases, people with disabilities, elderly citizens and orphans. 

In 2014, IFRP will deliver and distribute Harwst Lentil Pro, a fortified, dehydrated, lentil-blended micro-nutrient soup mix, produced by Breedlow Dehydrated Foods in Lubbock, Texas. This will be the seventh round of IFRP program in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The 2014 round is implemented by the American NGO Resource and Policy Exchange (RPX), in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic. On site the program is administered by the local Public Foundation Ergene.

The 2014 round provides additional food supplies to the local tuberculosis institutions, providing nutritious meals to hospitalized TB patients as well as outpatients. This effort creates an additional incentive for TB patients to comply with their daily courses of treatment and provides them with the increased calorie intake required to recover.

In the past, IFRP program also provided nutritious food supplies to orphans, physically disabled children, elderly patients and psychiatric patients, internally displaced persons and households affected by conflict in the Kyrgyz Republic, increasing their daily calorie and protein intake, and enhancing their diet diversity.  

Since 2006, IFRP program has donated more than 19 million individual servings, including one million rations to earthquake-affected families in the south of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2008. In 2013 alone, IFRP program provided nutritional assistance to 79 social and health institutions in 2013 in the Kyrgyz Republic.
