On June 25th, Stephen M. Haykin, USAID/Caucasus Mission Director, launched Promoting Gender Equality in Employment project. USAID’s Promoting Gender Equality in Employment Project is a locally-driven initiative, developed by Article 42 of the Constitution. The project will conduct training for employers, employees and youth in Tbilisi and ten regions of Georgia.
On November 17, 2013, USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah led a U.S. delegation, including USAID Assistant Administrator Paige Alexander and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Thomas Melia, attending Georgia's Presidential Inauguration of Giorgi Marvelashvili. Marvelashvili was elected in a peaceful election on October 28, 2013. Administrator Shah's official statement is below.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded CNFA a contract, valued at $19.5 million, to implement the Restoring Efficiency to Agriculture Production (REAP) in Georgia from September 2013 through September 2018.
