In preparation for the development of the CDCS, USAID/Moldova engaged in a process of analysis and consultation to gather information for the new five-year strategic plan. USAID/Moldova held a staff retreat in May 2012 to formally kick-off the process. At the same time, the Moldova office initiated consultations with stakeholders in the host government, the private sector, other donor agencies, the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau, and within USAID’s technical offices. These consultations focused on soliciting perspectives on the key development challenges facing Moldova, as well as the most likely areas where assistance could achieve the greatest impact.
