Marcia Musisi-Nkambwe began her position as Mission Director to Sudan in July 2017. She has been working for USAID in various capacities for more than 24 years and is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service.
Ms. Musisi-Nkambwe was previously Mission Director and Deputy Mission Director to Rwanda. Before her assignment in Rwanda, she served as Program Office Director in three very challenging environments – South Sudan, Nigeria and Iraq. She also worked as Program/Project Development Officer and Private Sector Advisor for many years in USAID/Southern Africa and USAID/Botswana.
Before joining USAID, she was a technical advisor to the Botswana Central Statistics Office for four years under a USAID project. She also worked as an economist in Chicago for several years, taught economics and statistics at Roosevelt University in Chicago, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone.
Ms. Musisi-Nkambwe has a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Illinois and a Master of Science in Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences from Northwestern University.
