Dana Ott is Acting Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Africa. A career civil servant, Ms. Ott has served as the Director of the Development Planning Office in the Africa Bureau since January 2009.
Previously, Ms. Ott served in the Office of the Director of Foreign Assistance working on the 2010 and 2011 budget builds, and heading the performance integration unit. Her service to USAID includes Acting Director for the Office of Sudan Programs, Sudan Desk Officer, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for the Office of Private and Voluntary Cooperation, South Africa Desk Officer, and Democracy Specialist for the Africa Bureau Office of Sustainable Development.
Ms. Ott holds a PhD and a Master’s degree from Brown University in Political Science.
