Today in Mogila the USAID Small Business Expansion Project, co-financed by the Government of Switzerland, held a closing ceremony for its four-year Grow More Corn initiative during the agricultural fair Traktorijada 2016. This event was organized by the Municipality of Mogila and the Local Action Group PeLAGonija. USAID/Macedonia Mission Director James Stein and the Ambassador of Switzerland to the Republic of Macedonia, Sybille Suter-Tejada gave remarks at the closing ceremony highlighting the achievements of the initiative.
On December 15th in Skopje, USAID Adaptation to Climate Change in Agriculture project celebrated the results from five – years of introducing simple and cost effective farm level adaptive practices that address an important issue such as climate change.
December 14, 2017 - Today at the office of the Ombudsman a Memorandum for Cooperation was signed by the Ombudsman of the Republic of Macedonia and, the USAID LGBTI Inclusion Project implemented by the Helsinki Committee for human rights, to highlight the importance of protection and promotion of the rights of LGBTI people in the Republic of Macedonia. Representatives of LGBTI organizations and human rights activists attended the signing ceremony.
On November 18, 2016, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched the Civic Engagement Project (CEP), a five-yearinitiative to support Macedonian civil society and youth organizations to engage with citizens, the private sector and government stakeholders and institutions on issues of public interest.
Support the Government of Macedonia's efforts to increase investment in energy generation from renewable sources, and reduce Macedonia’s total final energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
