Skopje - Today, the USAID Equal Access for Equal Opportunities project held a roundtable on “Assistive Technology Use in Mainstream Primary Schools: Experiences and Practices.” The roundtable, organized in cooperation with the Municipality of Karpos, brought together teachers, school directors, parents and representatives of education-focused NGOs to review the initial positive experiences of eight primary schools from Skopje and Veles and the benefits teachers found in using assistive technology in their daily work with students with disabilities.
Skopje - Today in Tetovo, USAID launched its new Micro and Small Enterprises Project for the Polog Region. The project supports the growth of entrepreneurs and micro and small enterprises through exchange of experience, consultancy, export support and investments.
Skopje - Today at the U.S. Embassy, USAID opened a traveling photo exhibition, entitled USAID – Changing Lives, in celebration of USAID’s 50th anniversary globally and its 18th year as Macedonia’s partner in development. To mark the occasion, 18 photographs were selected for exhibition through a contest on the USAID Macedonia Facebook page during December, 2011.
Skopje - After six years, the USAID Primary Education Project (PEP) has successfully completed its activities supporting Macedonia’s education system to improve its efficiency, quality, and performance through school renovations, ICT in education, improving math and science, improving school based assessment and workforce development.
Skopje - Today the USAID Youth Employability Skills (YES) Network project launched new activities in Stip to enhance the employability skills of youth. The project is working with the municipality to help people aged 15-27 become more competitive in the labor market and ultimately secure employment.
