The U.S. Mission in Hanoi, Vietnam is seeking eligible and qualified applicant for the position of Acquisition and Assistance Support Assistant in the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
In collaboration with the Vietnam Authority for AIDS Control (VAAC), the USAID Sustainable HIV Response from Technical Assistance (SHIFT) Project assisted HIV treatment providers in seven Vietnamese provinces (An Giang, Nghe An, Bac Giang, Ha Noi, Thai Binh, Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City) to prepare and counsel patients, evaluate needs, and develop plans to move approximately 4,000 patients to a new ARV regimen (TDF/3TC/EFV) by September 2017.
Today, in collaboration with Fablab Danang, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Arizona State University (ASU) and University of Danang launched a Maker Innovation Space. Located in University of Danang, this fully equipped laboratory space will help students gain skills to launch and test new technologies and innovative solutions to community development challenges.
On August 09, USAID returned over 12.7 hectares of remediated land at the Danang International Airport to Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense. This land will be developed as part of the airport’s expansion.
Men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender (TG) communities in Vietnam are disproportionately affected by HIV. The USAID Sustainable HIV Response From Technical Assistance (SHIFT) Project is helping Blue Sky Club, a civil society group and long-standing partner of PEPFAR in Vietnam, use creative and cost-effective techniques to increase awareness of HIV risk behaviors and available HIV services for MSM and TG communities in Vietnam.
