Youth for Human Rights (Y4HR) works to build the leadership and advocacy skills of young Rwandans (both women and men) to better understand and be able to stand up for their own rights and the rights of vulnerable communities. The Youth for Human Rights project is implemented by Never Again Rwanda (NAR) and is intended to build the capacity of youth to be advocates for increasing tolerance and the rights of vulnerable groups in Rwanda, such as people with disabilities and the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.
Feed the Future Strategy for USAID in Rwanda (Fiscal Years 2011-2015)
The United States officially renewed its commitment to the Rwandan people by providing over $108 million of development assistance in late December 2014 to fund ongoing and new development projects. These funds, implemented through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will continue the United States’ work to accelerate Rwanda’s progress to middle income status and a better quality of life for its people.
The University of Rwanda (UR) is excited to announce the beginning of a new Master of Science degree program in Agribusiness. The gender-sensitive degree program will enroll its first cohort of students in February 2015.
The Government of Rwanda (GOR) has made great strides in developing policies and strategies to support women’s empowerment and the advancement of gender equality, and numerous mechanisms have been instituted to support their implementation. Nevertheless, Rwandan women continue to face equality challenges.
