Introduction

The FY 2016 Annual Performance Report (APR) for the U.S. Department of State (the Department) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) presents indicators and data reflecting the work conducted by the Department and USAID to achieve the strategic objectives, Agency Priority Goals (APGs), and performance goals articulated in the retired FY 2014 – FY 2017 Joint Strategic Plan (JSP). A revised FY 2018 – FY 2022 Joint Strategic Plan, due to be published in February 2018, is currently under development.
