WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday, March 13, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Intel Corporation will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to expand their ongoing collaboration to utilize technology to further economic and social development around the world.

The agreement between USAID and Intel focuses joint efforts to expanding access to broadband, girl’s education, women’s economic empowerment, climate change, health and entrepreneurship.

The longstanding partnership reflects the priorities of USAID to promote cost-effective, high-value public-private partnerships that can help achieve U.S. foreign policy and development goals.

The MOU will be signed on behalf of USAID by Dr. Maura O’Neill, Chief Innovation Officer and Senior Counselor and on behalf of Intel by Shelly Esque, Vice President, Corporate Affairs Group and President of the Intel Foundation. Both Dr. O’Neill and Ms. Esque will be making brief remarks and are available for comment.
