WASHINGTON, D.C. - Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Anita Datar who died during the terrorist attack on the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bamako, Mali on November 20, 2015. Anita dedicated her career to advancing global health and international development, most recently working for the non-governmental organization, Palladium, on a USAID-funded project in Mali.

Her exemplary legacy of service to the most vulnerable will endure and remain in our hearts as we work to achieve our mission of eliminating extreme poverty and promoting resilient democratic societies.

This senseless tragedy serves as a reminder of the unwavering commitment of international development workers around the world, whose sacrifices are made all the more heroic by the increasing dangers they face in the places they serve. We honor their outstanding service and humanity.
