U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Acting Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Margot Ellis will travel to Ukraine and Moldova March 13-22, 2017.
In Ukraine, Ellis will meet with government officials and civil society activists to discuss how U.S. assistance is responding to development and economic challenges. Discussions will focus on support for enhancing democratic governance, strengthening transparency, and implementing economic reforms. Ellis will also travel to eastern Ukraine for meetings with local government officials. She will speak to USAID-supported youth groups and local organizations that are providing assistance to internally displaced persons and others affected by conflict. In Moldova, Ellis will meet with private sector and civil society leaders, as well as government officials.
