WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Assistant Administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean Marcela Escobari will travel to Central America from August 22-September 1, 2016. On her visit to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, she will meet with public officials, the private sector, and USAID partners on the ground to review USAID's progress in implementing the U.S. Strategy for Engagement in Central America.
Assistant Administrator Escobari's trip underscores USAID's commitment to partnership with the Northern Triangle countries, and includes field visits to projects that promote prosperity, good governance, and citizen security in the region. She will discuss job creation with small business owners, meet with young people to learn about the challenges and opportunities they face, visit rural farmers to see firsthand the progress that is being made in combating food insecurity, and meet with national and local government officials and civil society organizations to discuss important policies and progress.
