On July 5th the fourth cohort of the Transformational Leadership Program’s (TLP) Immersion Component gathered to celebrate the completion of their courses of study. Acting Mission Director Mike de la Rosa joined students, teachers, and American University in Kosovo (A.U.K.) faculty to celebrate this achievement and to publicize the value of the Immersion Courses. The Immersion Program is a critical piece of the TLP architecture, as it supports potential TLP scholarship applicants to improve their English skills and prepare for their U.S. graduate school exams. The benefit of this support is that more applicants will ultimately qualify to apply and receive a scholarship to attend a Master’s Degree program in the U.S. or in other countries. Over a five-year period A.U.K. aims to serve approximately 1,150 students. So far, 1,000 have been admitted to the Immersion program, and courses have been provided to people across all regions of Kosovo (including North Mitrovica and Gracanica).
