SHKODRA, ALBANIA     USAID and Yunus Social Business Balkans are holding a national contest, "Social Impact Award Albania," for young entrepreneurs between 15-30 years old. Applications are open until June 15, 2017. The contest aims to provide youth with opportunities to gain practical business skills that are not taught at school. A series of startup training events (focused on social business idea generation, business modelling and business planning) is now being implemented at different universities across the country. Events were held last week in Shkoder and Elbasan. Additional events with take place in Gjirokaster, Vlora, Korca, and Tirana. The top 10 best startup teams will be selected on June 30 to receive a three-month incubation (July-September), from which the top three teams will receive seed financing and will be sent to the "SIA Europe Summit" in November in Belgrade.
