Diluncurkan pada bulan Januari 2015, program Emerging Pandemic Threats 2 (EPT-2) melanjutkan dan memperluas keberhasilan program USAID EPT-1 dan Avian Influenza dalam bidang pencegahan penyakit, surveilans, pelatihan, dan penanggulangan wabah. Meskipun Indonesia telah mencapai kemajuan luar biasa selama satu dekade terakhir, Tuberkulosis (TB) masih menjadi salah satu dari empat penyebab teratas kematian di negara ini. Selain dari hasil survei prevalensi baru-baru ini yang menunjukkan prevalensi TB jauh lebih tinggi dari yang diperkirakan sebelumnya, peningkatan kasus TB kebal obat (MDR-TB - Multi Drug TB Resistant), temuan kasus TB dan MDR-TB di rumah sakit umum dan swasta masih belum memadai, dan rendahnya notifikasi kasus TB di penyedia pelayanan kesehatan sektor swasta yang menjadikannya sebagai salah satu tantangan signifikan bagi program TB nasional.

Renewed outbreak of cholera spreads in 19 governorates, with more than 41,900 suspected cases recorded since late April. US government (USG) contributes an additional $77.1 million to support emergency relief operations in Yemen. Humanitarian agencies, including USG partners, provide life-saving assistance to approximately 4.8 million people from January to early May.
On May 24, the U.S. Government (USG) announced more than $64 million in new humanitarian assistance for drought- and conflict-affected Somalis. The new assistance includes $30.4 million from USAID/OFDA, more than $5.6 million from USAID/FFP, and $28.1 million from State/PRM to meet emergency food, nutrition, health, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) needs for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable communities in Somalia and Somali refugees in the region.
