On October 7, Ambassador Greg Delawie spoke at the inaugural ceremony of the Women’s Economic Forum (WEF). The WEF is an independent body that aims to bring together organizations and individuals under one umbrella to speak with a unified voice on women’s economic development. More importantly, the WEF seeks to embed women’s economic empowerment as a central pillar of the national economic development agenda.

The inaugural event was also an opportunity for founding members and other stakeholders to commit their support to the work of the Forum.

The establishment of the Women Economic Forum was initiated by Riinvest, a local research institute and USAID grantee through the Engagement For Equity administered by the Advocacy Training and Resource Center– ATRC. Through this grant Riinvest will conduct a series of analyses over the next 18 months on the economic opportunities for women in Kosovo.
