U.S. Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson, along with the head of Kosovo's Judicial Council Enver Peci, chief State Prosecutor Ismet Kabashi, and local court officials, have inaugurated renovations to the Rahovec/Orahovac courthouse. USAID supported the renovations as part of its continuing assistance to strengthen rule of law in Kosovo. The renovations expanded the existing space to add new courtrooms, a spectator area, and offices, as well an access ramp for people with disabilities. The Ambassador called for further improvements in Kosovo's rule of law in order to strengthen Kosovo's democracy and economic development. Local headlines included "Ambassador Jacobson: Rule of Law is not Achieved Only Through New Buildings" and "Ambassador Jacobson Calls for Improvement of Justice in Kosovo." The Ambassador also visited two other USAID projects in Rahovec; one was a new tourism center to assist visitors to the wine-producing region; the other was a manufacturer of doors, windows, and flooring. With USAID support, the second company has introduced engineered wood flooring to Kosovo.
