For Immediate Release
USAID Acting Mission Director Christopher Edwards and Kosovo’s Minister of Health Dr. Ferid Agani inaugurated a new pediatric emergency care facility on March 19, 2013 at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo in Pristina. The facility is the result of a partnership involving the Ministry of Health, which funded construction, Rotary Clubs in Kosovo, Turkey, and California and U.S. foundations Assist International and Project CURE, which provided equipment. USAID through the American International Health Alliance provided project design, furniture and training for medical staff. The project addresses the severe shortage of medical services in Kosovo tailored to meet the special needs of children. The new emergency care facility is part of a project implemented under a four-year public-private partnership through the Global Development Alliance to improve maternal and child health in Kosovo. Check out the cute sheets on the beds!
