Pristina, September 15 - USAID/Kosovo Acting Mission Director Chris Edwards and President of the Republic of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga today signed an amendment to the bilateral Development Objective Grant Agreement signed between the two governments in December 2013.
With this Amendment, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will obligate an additional $34,334,636 in funds to support a range of activities in Kosovo, including programs to support improved rule of law and governance, increased investment and private sector employment, and enhanced human capital.
This is the fourth amendment to the Agreement, which brings the total obligated amount to $75,328,664 in funding to support Kosovo’s development.
USAID, an independent federal government agency that receives overall foreign policy guidance from the Secretary of State, has provided economic and democracy and governance assistance worldwide for over 50 years. This year, USAID marks 15 years of partnering for positive change in Kosovo.
