Through this activity, Pathfinder has improved the health of Kenyans through an integrated package of family planning, reproductive health, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS and TB services.
Lodwar, June 19 -- The U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Robert F. Godec visited members of the Turkana Widows Advancement Program at a greenhouse that they operate in Lodwar Town. The greenhouse is one of several livelihood activities that enable the community members to care for themselves and the orphans and vulnerable children for whom they are caregivers. USAID funded the members to be trained on how to grow nutritious produce for consumption and sale, and the Ministry of Agriculture provided the greenhouse. USAID supplied the water tank to irrigate the greenhouse crops.

U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Robert F. Godec joined Governor of Embu County, Nyaga Wambora, to launch a new water distribution system in Embu County. The new Embu Water and Sewerage Company (EWASCO) system will expand water access to an additional 6,000 households and more than 100 schools, clinics, and community buildings in Mbeer and surrounding low-income communities of Embu County. The system also serves as a model for how to transform Kenya’s water and sanitation sector with private financing.
