Mumbai, India – Yesterday, the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Tata Trusts, comprising of the Sir Ratan Tata Trust & Allied Trusts and Sir Dorabji Tata Trust & Allied Trusts, executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore partnership opportunities to support development innovation in maternal and child health, nutrition, tuberculosis control, water, sanitation, early grade literacy, agriculture, and social entrepreneurship.
USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator Manpreet Anand and Mr. Ratan Tata were present on behalf of USAID and Tata Trusts, respectively. U.S. Consul General Thomas Vajda also was present to mark the occasion. The MOU memorialized the commitment of both parties to work together to address development challenges and builds upon existing partnerships between the two.
Mr. Anand stated, "Building partnerships is fundamental to our new model of development, especially in India. We know that we can achieve results in a more effective manner if we tackle development challenges together. We're proud to have the Tata Trusts as one of our valued partners in India and look forward to expanding that relationship."
