West Mamprusi, Ghana— Dr. Philip Ricks, of the US Presidential Malaria Initiative (PMI) to USAID’s Ghana Mission, stakeholders from the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP), and local health authorities kicked off the seventh annual Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) campaign today. The IRS campaign will spray more than 216,000 structures during the 2014 campaign season, starting in the Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo, East Mamprusi, Savelugu-Nanton, and West Mamprusi districts in northern Ghana, protecting nearly 570,000 residents from malaria.
New classroom block at Zamrama Line in Accra to boost teaching and learning
More than 700 students are to begin their studies in a newly built three-story classroom block at Zamrama Line cluster of schools in Laterbiokoshie in Accra. This 18-unit classroom block will provide sufficient classrooms to allow all students in the schools to access the full day’s period of teaching and learning, and reduce the double shift system within the Accra metropolis.
USAID Rolls Out Population-Based Survey Results for 45 SADA Districts
Accra, Ghana — During an official data release conference, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) presented results from its Population-Based Survey (PBS) Results at the Alisa Hotel.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry formalized a working relationship with PYXERA Global with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding today. The Ghana Supply Chain Development Program will enable collaboration towards increasing the participation of small and medium sized enterprises in the supply chains of international oil companies operating in Ghana.
