The DRG Center’s EI Division assists vulnerable populations in more than 70 countries worldwide in gaining access to opportunities that support their full participation in family, community and society. EI is at the forefront of developing innovative programming for children in adversity (including conflict situations) with particular attention to children without adequate family care; in setting orthopedic, rehabilitation and assistive health technology standards in developing countries; in improving treatment and healing options for survivors of torture and trauma; and promulgating this programming both within USAID and globally. These efforts, among others, have also led worldwide policy change on barrier-free accessibility and inclusion of persons with disabilities in family and community.
