CHRISTIAN VANDEN ASSEM
Senior Budget Analyst, Office of U.S. Foreign Assistance Resources

Chris has over twenty-four years of experience in accounting and budgeting for federal programs. He has managed both accounting and budgetary processes for the agency’s foreign assistance credit programs, and has served as agency liaison on credit program matters with OMB, Treasury, and the interagency. In addition to holding a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Chris is admitted to the Bar in the District of Columbia.

Chris began his career with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, where he served as Accounting and Reporting Team Leader in the Loan Management Division. There he was instrumental in the development of a general ledger interface between the loan servicing module and the agency’s accounting system, as well as a database for managing credit program collections.

Chris currently works in the Resources and Appropriations Division of the Office of U.S. Foreign Assistance Resources at the U.S. Department of State, where he continues to work on credit program as well as international security and other non-credit issues, and serves as that office’s representative on USAID’s Credit Review Board (CRB).
