Almaty, Kazakhstan — USAID’s Regional Economic Cooperation Project will hold the third and final session of the training seminar “Development of Export Partnerships: Logistics and Export” for Central Asian small- and medium-sized enterprises and NGOs. The three-day training session will be held at the Alatau Resort Hotel in Almaty on May 29-31.

Sixty entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will discuss issues related to logistics, supply chain management, information technologies in transport logistics, risk management and marketing in logistics, as well as international best practices and their applicability to Central Asia, the European logistics model and strategy development. The keynote lecturer is Vadims Kolmogorovs, an international trade and logistics expert with vast experience in consulting, training, strategic planning of international commodities turnover and supply chain management.

Viktor Prodedovich, Chief of Party of the USAID Regional Economic Cooperation Project said, “The training will provide participants, who represent top management from small and medium size enterprises, with the opportunity to evaluate and compare various logistics arrangements: either to develop logistics within their own company, or to outsource it, or to come up with a combination of the two. Participants will benefit not only from knowledge gained, but also from established business networks.”

This training seminar is part of the Export Partnership Initiative that USAID launched in 2011. USAID’s Regional Economic Cooperation project continues to facilitate the creation of new export clusters.
