The Barama Innovation Center, which was opened in Baku’s Old City in December 2009, has started to offer young Azerbaijani entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop their ICT and telecom-related innovations in a safe environment before launching them in the Azerbaijani marketplace. The main objective of the Barama project is to provide support aimed at exploring new ideas in the sphere of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), evolving them to maturity and eventually turning them into reality.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Azerbaijan Reproductive Health & Family Planning (RH/FP) Project will launch a social marketing promotion for private sector pharmacies as part of the ongoing National Pomegranate Campaign “Pregnancy Planning – Choose the Right Time!”. The goal is to increase public awareness about modern contraception as the safest and most reliable way to plan a healthy pregnancy and encourage pharmacies to offer consumers the widest possible choice of quality contraceptive products.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Microsoft Azerbaijan, forming an alliance aimed at reducing the use of pirated software and boosting innovation, sales, and jobs in Azerbaijan’s developing information technology sector.
“We are pleased to be able to support this partnership, and we look forward to the positive results that this public-private partnership is designed to produce,” states USAID/Caucasus-Azerbaijan Economic Growth Office Director Sheila Young.
