Today, the United States Government, working through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), sponsored a conference on the “Development of Small and Medium Enterprises in Azerbaijan” as part of the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Week at the Holiday Inn.
On October 11, due to joint efforts between Azerbaijan and the United States, residents of Gimilgazma village of Guba district celebrated the completion of water access improvement project in the community. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); along with the Ministry of Economy, the local Executive Committee, and the municipal government. USAID and the Government of Azerbaijan co-financed the construction, which was managed by the East-West Management Institute (EWMI).
On October 5, residents of the Baharabad village of Beylagan district celebrated the completion of the construction of a new medical facility that will improve access to healthcare for 1,450 people. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. William Gill, deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Baku; along with representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Health, the local Executive Committee, municipal government, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). USAID and the Government of Azerbaijan co-financed the construction, which was conducted by the East-West Management Institute (EWMI).
BEYLAGAN – On July 19 and 20, villages in Beylagan district celebrated the completion of multiple electricity and livestock management projects. The ceremonies were attended by representatives of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), U.S. Embassy, local Executive Committee, and municipal government. The projects were co-financed by USAID and the Government of Azerbaijan and implemented by the East-West Management Institute (EWMI) under the Socio-Economic Development Activity (SEDA).
IMISHLI – On June 30, residents of Govherli village of the Imishli district celebrated the construction of a new medical facility. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Health, local Executive Committee, and municipal government. The project was co-financed by USAID and the Government of Azerbaijan and implemented by the East-West Management Institute (EWMI) under the Socio-Economic Development Activity (SEDA).
GUBA - Today, residents of the Rustov community of the Guba district celebrated the completion of a solar energy street lighting project. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), U.S. Embassy, Ministry of Economy, local Executive Committee, and municipal government. The project was co-financed by USAID and the Government of Azerbaijan and implemented by the East-West Management Institute (EWMI) under the Socio-Economic Development Activity (SEDA).
GANJA – On May 13, nearly 120 participants gathered to discuss issues regarding community development in Azerbaijan, the progress, challenges, and lessons learned from their experience in mobilizing community resources to implementing community socio-economic development projects. The conference was organized by East-West Management Institute (EWMI) under the Socio-Economic Development Activity (SEDA) project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Azerbaijan.
SAMUKH – On May 12, residents of the Gadili community of the Samukh district celebrated the completion of a project to improve water access in the community. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the local Executive Committee, municipal government, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project was funded by USAID and the Azerbaijani government and implemented by the East-West Management Institute (EWMI) under the Socio-Economic Development Activity (SEDA).
