Financial Service Volunteer Corps (FSVC) presented the inaugural FSVC Volunteer of the Year Award to two volunteers from the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance (NYSDTF) for their outstanding commitment to civic and global service. Over the last 8 months, NYSDTF Acting Commissioner Nonie Manion and NYSDTF Deputy Commissioner Amanda Hiller have brought their knowledge on tax administration to three FSVC projects in Albania. Ms. Manion and Ms. Hiller spent several weeks advising key decision makers in Albania, including the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. These two volunteers also facilitated a working visit by officials from the tax authority in Albania to the New York Department of Tax and Finance.
