Creative Business Solutions (CBS) in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) launched the AgroCapital program-aimed to strengthen access to capital for Albanian agribusinesses, today in a roundtable meeting in Tirana. The event was kicked off by Albanian Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Edmond Panariti and USAID’s Country Director Mr. David Cowles with opening speeches.
Today U.S. Ambassador Alexander Arvizu and Prime Minister Edi Rama inaugurated renovations financed by USAID at the Regional Hospital in Lezha. The Ambassador, Prime Minister, and Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, cut the ceremonial ribbon and unveiled memorial plaques recognizing USAID assistance to the hospital and then toured the hospital to view other USG investments. The Regional Hospital of Lezha is one of three “pilot” hospitals that USAID has been working with on adopting better hospital management systems.
Today USAID and a local NGO, Assist Impact, in partnership with the School of Magistrates, announced the launch of the “Manual on the Albanian Insolvency Law” to support business development in Albania. USAID/Albania Mission Director, Jim Barnhart, and Assist Impact’s Deputy Director, Bruna Stamo, and the Head of the Magistrates School, Neshat Fana, delivered remarks at a ceremony held at the Magistrate’s School.
Today, USAID/Albania delivered to Albania’s Central Inspectorate (CI) 260 Portable Inspection Kits that consist of laptop computers and portable scanners and printers for inspectors to use in the field for efficient, on-line, real-time inspections. Government inspections are vital for ensuring regulations that safeguard human health, safety, and the environment are properly functioning.
