Dole Foods Pledges to Support Afghanistan Agriculture

Owner and CEO of Dole Foods meets with President Karzai.

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN- Mr. David Murdock, owner and CEO of Dole Foods Company, met with President Karzai on April 23 to announce his intention to explore a major Dole presence in Afghanistan.  Mr. Murdock came to Afghanistan at the request of President Bush and visited the area aground Bagram and Mazar-e-Sharif, as well as a U.S.-sponsored Agricultural Fair, the first of its kind held in many years in the country.
